DNN Sharp Roundup. Fueling The Magic That Is Our Culture

You may have noticed that DNN Sharp is a lean and fast moving organism. As our community grows so does it’s demand on our resources, and in turn our team.

We’re a constant work in progress though, and always wanting to improve internally and externally: upgrading products, lowering response times, and building an awesome company culture. As a management team we’ve dedicated a large part of the last couple months re-engineering our team. The most significant evidence of this is the new names and faces you might have met over in our support forums.

Fueling The Magic That Is Our Culture

A part of our distributed team recently descended upon Dracula Land in Brasov, Transilvania for a rare in-person meetup. Not only were we able to take in the wonderful sites that Brasov has to offer, but we also had the opportunity to discuss on how to keep you, our customers happy.

This event was a rare opportunity for our team to converge on a single location for a few days of team building, bonding and a chance to see team members who usually work from our offices in Bucharest and Iasi and remote locations across Romania and Singapore.

After many hours of driving, we arrived in Brasov and the real adventure began - finding our colleagues. Bear in mind, some of us had never met in person until that time :-).

I must say that the value of a meetup like this for a team like ours simply can’t be quantified in numbers. What is the return on investment for shared experiences? How can you measure the excitement of meeting someone in person for the first time?

This in person retreat created energy, creativity, and long lasting memories for our team which is an investment that will continue to pay dividends long after we’ve returned home.

A More Connected Team

We had a very simple goal of this meetup and that was to build a stronger, more connected team. I think it’s safe to say we’ve achieved that goal, and taken it one step further and all made some special, new friends. What is evident of this week is that our team is made up of some brilliant personalities of very diverse backgrounds.

We all left Brasov with happy hearts, inspirational thoughts and a fervour to spur on some exciting new projects we have in the pipeline…

Finally, we as a team would like to give a big shout out to Bogdan for such an awesome event and for going the extra mile to help us attend and to Adrian for his efforts and willingness in making us real scouts.
