How to Generate Reports in Search Boost

We’ve had a lot of our Search Boost users asking how to see what searches their visitors are performing on sites, how many pages of results the visitors navigated and what results they clicked. And we made a video on the topic.

We thought we’d bring it here and elaborate on it slightly more.

1. First, you need to have the avt.SearchBoost.Input and avt.SearchBoost.Results modules installed.

2. On the Search Boost Input module, click on Manage then select Search Settings, to open the Search Boost Control Panel.

3. In the Search Boost Control Panel click on the Reports button; this will open the Reports page.
4. The Start Date and End Date fields, allow you to enter specific dates of searches you would like to download. Use the Start Date field to enter the starting date for the search and use the End Date field to enter the end date for the search. This generates a list of searches conducted between the start date and end dates.

5. You can use the Latest Searches section to identify search terms used. You will notice a bullet list specifying the latest searches. Each search specifies the search term, the date and time of the search and number of results.

6. The Popular Searches section, provides a bullet list of searches conducted in the last 30 days. Each one specifies the search term used and number of searches conducted. 6. The Download CSV  link allows you to download searches performed in the Search Boost portal.  When you click on this link, a CSV file is downloaded and opened with Microsoft Excel or a similar application that is compatible with CSV files.

Smile And Be Happy

Aaaand, you’re done! You’ve now successfully generated a report in Search Boost. And the best part? You can see what searches users are performing on your DNN sites, how many pages of results the users navigated and what results they clicked!

Say whaaat?
